How to perform a 'hard reset' on your Xbox

Let's face it, from time to time, things go wrong on your Xbox, and you just need to do a hard reset on your Xbox. This is pretty basic and should be done occasionally. No harm will come to the Xbox, no data will be last (except for unsaved data). It's just a step further than a 'reboot'. Here's how to do this

Power Button (on console)
Hold this down for a few seconds, until the Xbox chirps and the button turns off

Power Cord (in back of console)
Unplug this from the Xbox, set it to the side

Waiting (is the hardest part)
Give it about 5 minutes or so before doing anything else

Power cord (in back of console)
Plug this back in

Waiting (is the hardest part)
This time, you need to only wait about a minute. Just give your console some time

Power Button (xbox or controller)
Hit it!

Once your Xbox has been hard reset, you're good to go.
